Surrounded by rolling hills and situated approximately 35km from Malaga airport in the spectacular hinterland of Mijas Costa and Marbella, the resort is distinguished by its Andalucian style of architecture, nestling between the golf courses of La Cala Golf and Spa Resort.
Accommodation
The 107 bedrooms (102 double rooms & five junior suites) have been recently renovated. They boast breathtaking views over the Campo Asia (South Golf Course). Beautifully decorated, they maintain the traditional Andalusian architectural style whilst offering the luxury of satellite TV, Wi Fi wireless, in room safe, hairdryer, air conditioning/heating, mini-bar and bathroom complete with under-floor heating, sofa beds in many rooms, terrace or balcony. At the disposal of families there are also adjoining rooms.
Food & Beverage
The resort has an excellent restaurant and snack bar. La Terraza (in the hotel), with an inspiring view of the swimming pool and the golf course, serves the finest selection of national and international dishes, while breakfast, lunch and dinner can be served outside on the terrace, if the weather permits it. Theme evenings are available twice a week. Next to it, there is a private dining room, ideal for private parties. The 19th Hole snack bar in the clubhouse, where early bird breakfast and hot snacks are served all day. Guests can enjoy drinks, as well as snacks on the large terrace of the 19th Hole. For groups, prize awards, cocktails and for those who prefer a more private ambiance, the Patio or the Pérgola is the perfect place to celebrate. On side there is Los Olivos, ideal for private functions. Next to the reception, one should discover the new Lobby Bar, the meeting place for both La Cala Residents and guests, which stays open till the early hours. There, snacks and drinks are served all day long. During summer time, drinks are also served on the patio or at the pool bar, while in winter drinks are served in the lobby bar and lounge next to the open fire. On occasional evenings guests can enjoy there live music.
Sports & Leisure
La Cala Resort, due to its particularly privileged situation, is able to offer its clients a wide variety of sporting activities, indoor and outdoor, which promise to meet with guests expectations. These include a full-size football pitch, two floodlit tennis courts, a gymnasium and squash court with racket and ball hire, horse riding (nearby), outdoor pool, outdoor kids pool, outdoor jacuzzi and sauna inside Clubhouse.
Golf
The natural features of the terrain have been used to challenging effect by the golf architect, Cabell B. Robinson who was previously European Director of the Robert Trent Jones Organisation. Both the South Course (Par 72) and the North Course (Par 73) are carefully maintained to ensure they are playable all year round. The North Course is perhaps more difficult than the shorter South but both demand great accuracy from the tee and careful club selection. The third golf course, Campo Europa, has also been designed by Cabell B. Robinson. The River Ojen plays a key part in making the new course distinctive. The layout allows for plenty of water hazards. Par is 71 and it is 6,014 metres in length. La Cala is also the location of the only David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Spain. The Academy consists of a new ?state of the art? teaching building with adjoining driving range and six-hole par 3 Executive course. The building is equipped with the latest camera and computer technology. With three courses and the rest of the five star facilities at La Cala, FBD will secure its goal of making La Cala the best residential tourist resort in Southern Europe. Special Green Fees: 1 Green Fee per person when reservations are booked 1 month prior to arrival, with minimum stay of 7 nights.
CaraCala Spa
The newly constructed CaraCala Spa provides guests extensive and innovative spa facilities of 1300sq.m. with beautiful interiors and wonderful views. Relaxation and caring treatments by professionals can assure guests satisfaction with the spa experience: hydrotherapy pool indoor & outdoor, hammam, sauna, mild & herbal steam room, igloo, kleipp foot baths, tepidarium, relaxation room, experience showers etc. At the CalaCala Spa, guests will also find six therapy rooms, consultation/tranquillity/wet room, dry float, solarium, a couple therapy suite, spa cafe and lounge etc. Please note that guests under 16 are not permitted to use the spa. If attending a treatment they must be accompanied by an adult.
