Hotel Orlando

Orlando is famous for one thing - Walt Disney. Orlando is ranked as the third most popular US destination with overseas travelers and claims the second most hotel room nights, lagging just behind Las Vegas.

Walt Disney World is, of course, the star attraction in Orlando. "The happiest place on earth" makes over 20 million people happy each year and is the world's biggest amusement park. There are three main parks within this one giant park - Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center and MGM-Studios Theme park. Each of these three parks represents a different theme - fairy tales, science and technology and fantasy. There is so much to do in Disney World alone, that you could easily spend your whole vacation here.

Downtown Orlando is a great place to go to escape the clutches of Disney. The pace in Orlando is much slower and relaxed and generally much more agreeable. Downtown Orlando offers the same sights and attractions as any other large downtown city. The Orlando Science Center has the amazing Tunnel of Discovery and the Orlando Museum of Art showcases some brilliant archaeological finds.

Orlando weather is good all year round so the main thing to beware of is the queues at the theme park rides. School is out during August, so Disney World tends to be busiest at this time. The winter months are quieter and weekends tend to be less crowded than weekdays.
