Boston is one of these cities where you can find history and modern culture at almost every street corner. Boston has some of the best-preserved historic buildings and neighborhoods in the country. Many of the historic sights remain in the downtown area and a few of them have been linked together to create the fascinating Freedom Trail. Beware though - some of these historic sites have been modernized into theme parks and shopping arcades! Faneuil Hall is one of the best-known buildings here. It was originally built as a public meeting place and market. Today, Faneuil Hall houses some of the most famous American art. Just across the street from Faneuil Hall is Quincy Market. Quincy Market is where you can buy some of Boston's finest wares. There are also trendy jazz bars and cafes for you to relax in the afternoon sunshine.

Boston's most affluent neighborhood, Beacon Hill, once was home to the upper class 'Boston Brahmin' and is where, today, you will find the young urban professionals. It is worth checking out to see some of the fantastic homes!

Weather in Boston is typical of New England weather - hot, humid summers and cold, wet winters. The best time to visit is April - May and September - October. Bear in mind that Boston is a popular college city and early September is the start of new term - you may find it very busy at this time!
